The DRS Dual Rail System is a cost-effective, straight rail system for permanent-install studio environments. It is designed to add rail-based motion to larger payload systems, such as full system cameras with teleprompter.

The DRS Dual Rail System works well with MRMC’s heavy-duty robotic heads, such as AFC-180 and PTA-2, offering a solid and stable platform for full-system cameras including capability to support teleprompters.

KEY FEATURES

  • High Payload
  • Prompter Support
  • FreeD Output: VR-Ready

Virtual production is the new innovation at the Catalyst Stage at ESPN HQ in Bristol, with MRMC’s robotic camera system being an integral part of it. The cameras mounted on the DRS allowed high overview shots running diagonally into the set. This setup was fully integrated into the VR set with FreeD data providing the position of the camera on the rail, making compelling, creative shots possible in any production studio.

The DRS can be controlled using MRMC’s MHC and Polymotion Chat systems which allows it to offer this rail-based camera movement whilst incorporating subject tracking. It is also controllable via MRMC’s Broadcast Control Panel or in full manual mode using a joystick style controller.

The DRS can also be controlled via MRMC’s advanced studio software for integration into larger robotic systems, such as those containing the StudioBot robotic arm range.

The DRS is available in three lengths: 2 meters, 3 meters and custom lengths which are possible upon request. The system can be floor, tripod, wall, or ceiling mounted, offering maximum flexibility so you can stay creative with your broadcast production. The DRS is also virtual-set ready, owing to its FreeD output capability. The rail’s FreeD data can be combined with data from other parts of the system using MRMC’s Advanced FreeD merge box.
