Leipzig, Germany – DHD audio announces that its wide range of digital audio studio production systems will be promoted at the May 16th-18th CABSAT show in Dubai and June 7th-9th Broadcast Asia in Singapore.

DHD will be represented at CABSAT by Thum & Mahr, co-exhibiting with Broadcast Solutions Middle East on stand S1-B40. DHD’s Broadcast Asia presence will be in cooperation with Stagetec Asia on booth 5M2-11 in the German Pavilion, plus GBS on booth 6E1-01 showing DHD product videos in an informal discussion environment.

Highlight of DHD’s CABSAT presentation will be the SX2 desktop mixing console combined with latest-generation XC3 IP core.

The SX2 is based on a four-fader central module which can be operated standalone or chained with others to create a single production desk. Also available is an expansion module with six motorised faders. Central and fader modules each incorporate a 10.1 inch multi-touch display showing relevant configuration and operating parameters. SX2 features can be extended simply by adding optional license codes to the DSP core. These allow extra faders, busses and cleanfeeds. Functions such as loudness metering, profanity delay and talkback to other DHD mixers are also supported.

The XC3 IP core comprises two dual-core DSP modules which combine into a single 1U chassis. In combination these support up to 48 stereo faders, 72 stereo busses and 16 channels of AES67 IP audio. IPx expansion modules can be added to accommodate 128 channels of AES67/Ravenna IP audio in/out and up to 512 Dante channels. A companion module, the XC3 Concentrator, allows easy interconnection of multiple DHD IPx modules, control surfaces and I/O modules.

Stagetec Asia will promote the SX2 and DX2 mixing consoles plus the XC3 core. The DX2 is a compact mixer offering the streamlined ergonomics of the established DHD mixer range to ensure easy on-air operation as well as offline. It is based on a four-fader central module with a dedicated section for setup, monitoring, talkback, plus a six-fader expansion unit. The maximum number of faders is determined by the capabilities of the connected core. The six-fader module has professional grade 100 mm motorised faders with dust-protection. Each channel also has two control buttons, a UTF8-supported channel identifier, adjustable gain settings, an input channel meter, plus programme/off-air selection. Each fader can support a second layer. Dedicated potentiometers are provided for headphone and loudspeaker level. Both DX2 modules are equipped with a user-configurable 7.8 inch multi-touch screen for viewing fader and central control parameters. Optional Assist App 52-8512 can be used to control the mixer via a 1:1 copy directly from any browser. The DX2 can be connected to all DHD XC3 and XD3 cores.

“Our products are robustly built to withstand the rigours of operation in round-the-clock broadcast stations as well as the mechanical impacts to which equipment is sometimes subjected in mobile newsgathering and OB vehicles,” comments Christoph Gottert, Head of International Sales at DHD. “They are built around a modular concept allowing easy interconnectivity between studios within a single station or between distantly located premises. DHD’s central design objective is to ensure the highest possible audio signal quality, high operational reliability plus the stress-free control ergonomics that allow production creatives to react quickly when broadcasting live. DHD systems have very long operational lifetimes and can be expanded easily to accommodate additional programme services.”

DHD audio GmbH develops and produces digital audio studio equipment and systems for professional applications in broadcast control rooms, DJ-operated radio studios, OB trucks, SNG vans, ingest stations and edit suites. DHD also produces routing and talkback matrices, audio-over-IP interfaces and supporting software. DHD devices can be operated directly or under IP networked control. Designed and manufactured in Germany, DHD products are used successfully by broadcasters around the globe.
